I had occasion to drive on Route 66 today from Kenwood to Cleghorn. Everyone knows what happens in that stand of Cottonwoods. It is getting really bad again. There was one guy standing out in the open masturbating. It’s summer. Families will be taking Route 66 trips. They should not be subjected to this. What if a family stops in the Cottonwood stand not having any knowledge about what really goes on there. The county is trying to market Route 66–to families, not perverts!! They are supposed to be getting their kicks, not their jollies.
by AdministratorRemember the “Shark” who was part of the duo that arrested the guy and then made him and his family watch as the two cops ate the dinner the guy had just brought home for his family? Well, it seems that like many of the Sharks, he has gotten on the good side of Sheriff’s admin now that Beemer is gone. Many of that gang have received substantial promotions.
by AdministratorPlease confirm, deny, and clarify the following accounts that were provided to me: The “red boot” incident: I am told that someone had the crap kicked out of him so badly that the deputy’s boot turned red from the blood. The incident was covered up. I believe that deputy may be on the promotion/transfer list. Explorer Scout: I am told that a deputy who knew about the Benjamin explorer scout incident is being prosecuted for not speaking up.
by AdministratorThe post below would not have made a lot of sense without explaining what happened in context. But seriously, Deputy Anderson does deserve more than a passing “thank you” buried in the middle of a long post. I have appreciated all he has done in my case. He arrested the woman whose cell phone was left next to my truck and whose tire prints (all four tires were different) were behind my house. He brought me two six packs. I couldn’t identify anyone on the first but had no problem identifying the crook in the second.
by AdministratorI received a voice mail message today from Deputy Jason Anderson. The phone function on my phone is not working so I used a friend’s phone to call my voice mail to see what was up. I then called Victorville dispatch and left a message for him to call me. I explained that he needed to call a different number. I tried to ask her to tell him I would only be at that number for ten minutes but she got quite snotty with me.
by AdministratorEven though we had warning that Ron Cochran was going to be promoted to Assistant Sheriff, it still irks me to no end. This is a man who should have been arrested and criminally charged several times. Any of us would have been if we did what he has done, but instead the department covered up for him.
by AdministratorRemember, you heard it first here weeks ago: Sent on behalf of Sheriff Rod Hoops: I am proud to announce the following promotions effected March 24, 2012: Assistant Sheriff Bob Fonzi has been promoted to Undersheriff Deputy Chief Ron Cochran has been promoted to Assistant Sheriff in charge of Support Operations Captain Steve Kovensky promoted to Deputy Chief – assignment pending Lieutenant Mike Stansell promoted to Captain – assignment pending Lieutenant Rick Ells promoted to Captain remaining at Twin Peaks Lieutenant Tom Bradford promoted to Captain remaining in Big Bear RH/lyg
by AdministratorFor all of you people that still want the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office to promote from within we have a little story to tell you. Approximately three to four years ago one of the upper desert stations received a case that involved a nurse being kidnapped by her estranged husband. Several station detectives and a sergeant worked the case that took them to several states and cities. After a few days the suspect returned to the upper desert area with the victim. The suspect was arrested and no harm came to the victim.
by AdministratorIt seems everyone is making assumptions about Lt. Emmons. Something didn’t seem right to me so I asked a source to look into it further. It seems Emmons has not been promoted to Lieutenant but is underfilling the position with the intent of being promoted to it. This is not being arranged by Deputy Chief Big Momma (sorry but her name totally escapes me right now) but rather by Deputy Chief Paul Cook (not to be confused with Assemblyman Paul Cook).
by AdministratorThis was sent to me today: Sheriff’s Work Release Plan for Prisoners

by AdministratorPosted on April 14, 2010 by Administrator There was a time in the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department when brawn was far more important than brains. As a matter of fact, education beyond high school was looked upon as suspect. Fortunately, over the past 30 years, the powers that be have become more enlightened and an educated deputy is valued. But there are throwbacks even now. San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Lieutenant and Apple Valley Councilman Rick Roelle is such one example. Throughout his career, Roelle has had issues with his temper and his ability to control violent outbursts towards suspects and prisoners. Early on in his career as a deputy, Roelle would beat prisoners detained at Central Jail. But one of the most disturbing stories comes not from his early years, but rather after his promotion to Sergeant, a promotion made with full knowledge of Roelle’s penchant for violence. by AdministratorFrom a reader: I know you are keyed into some of the mountain Deputies issues, so I thought you would like this one. Apparently a Deputy Chief’s daughter is dating a meth addict who stole this Deputy Chief’s iPad. The meth addict has since sold the iPad to trade for drugs. The issue is here, there has been no report to date on this stolen iPad. The Twin Peaks Lt has ordered his deputies to find the iPad by any means necessary. Those deputies have been kicking doors and taking people to jail for various other reasons in hopes of finding this iPad. Now since the iPad has never been reported as stolen, if and when these deputies find the iPad, they will take it. Basically robbery under color of authority. So you can attempt to verify, the incident # is TP120120054.
by AdministratorYou are likely going to get your chance soon. I am not going to go into a lot of what happened a few days ago except to say that I awoke to several individuals breaking into my vehicle. One left a cell phone behind and is (or at least was) in custody. She has a lengthy criminal history. The other two are still being sought.
