    • iePolitics: Our poor BOS

So the BOS has set a second special meeting for tomorrow to discuss last week’s dismissal of the county’s case in the Colonies settlement.  Our BOS members have been so jacked around by county attorneys and the CAO/CEO and they are too stupid to see it.  Or are they?  After all, it is not their tens of millions of dollars they are wasting for political advantage.

    • Inland Utopia: Our Chicago Like Board of Supervisors

January 9, 2013 By mmunson Our San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors needs to become more responsive to the constituents of our county. The inherent contempt of the constituents makes it more insulting to be represented by them. The way our board members navigate through rules and procedure to say they are following the rules makes me wonder if we are in Cook County, Illinois such as how they added responsibilities to County Operating Officer Greg Devereaux that were questionable according to our county charter. • Examiner: Rutherford elected chairman, immediately cracks down on citizens making comments

Members of the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors today elected Janice Rutherford as chairman and Gary Ovitt as vice chairman.  They will serve in their respective positions for two years. The entire orchestrated process took only a couple of minutes and there was no discussion.  The outcome had clearly been determined prior to the public meeting, a likely violation of the Brown Act.  The supervisors did not make any attempt to conceal that they had pre-determined who would be elected to the two positions or who would make the nominations. • Havasu Lake: Lovingood onward

Dear Sharon Havasu Lake is one of those thorny “Small issues” that will pop Roberts innertube…. After the Mitzelfelt era of corruption the town of Havasu lake is a shattered wreck and we apparently have no relief in sight. We had hoped for an amicable relationship with our new Supervisor but we are left with a very troubling first impression of Robert lovingood, who apparently has taken a dive into the darkside of San Bernardino County, not into the sunshine at  Havasu Lake. As the new First District Supervisor, and the recipient of a Mitzelfelt endorsement, a reasonable, prudent official would seek to avoid even the appearance of continuity from Brad’s openly corrupt administration. The hiring of a Mitzelfelt staffer as the Field Rep for Havasu Lake kicks open the door to any number of links to Brad’s documented  history of corruption. It is hard to fathom the depth of First District’s crap…. As the new First District Supervisor Robert Lovingood is confronted by an unreal situation at Havasu Lake.  Robert apparently struck a deal with the devil, sort of like Brad’s iepolitics “Nightnare straight from Hell”……. only better!! Robert, first of all we need to know where the $117K went? There are allegations from within San Bernardino County Fire that the money was in effect “Stolen” from our Special District and diverted to pay for a command salary in the Victor Valley,( Brad and Megan’s and your own backyard), far from the Taxpayers at Havasu Lake. First District created [...]

    • iePolitics: Can anyone confirm?

There is a “Donald Holland” on the BOS agenda for Tuesday as a new hire for Lovingood.  Can anyone confirm whether or not that is THE Don Holland?

    • iePolitics: Lovingood proves his anti-corruption claims were nothing but campaign rhetoric to get elected

Shame on Supervisor Robert Lovingood.  He has only been in office for two weeks and he has already gone back on his campaign promises.  Clearly, he is not of the intelligence we had hoped if he is so willing to be led around by the nose by the likes of our county’s villiage idiot Josie Gonzales.

    • Havasu Lake: Lovingood goes back on promise

Dear Sharon On 12-18-12 Supervisor Robert Lovingoods office confirmed that a member of Brad Mitzelfelt’s staff has been rehired in the capacity of Field Rep for Havasu Lake. In a pre-election interview in Roberts office this source said very plainly that no Mitzelfelt staff members were going to be rehired. Out in the real world this is known as a lie.

    • Examiner: Commentary: Lovingood knows how to get the job done

On Tuesday, San Bernardino County First District residents will choose between Robert Lovingood and Rick Roelle to represent them on the Board of Supervisors.  Lovingood is the right candidate for the job. Despite both being conservative Republicans, Lovingood and Roelle are almost polar opposites.  Lovingood is the business community candidate; Roelle is the big union candidate. • Examiner: San Bernardino County First District race is a dogfight

The San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors is comprised of five elected members representing five unique districts.   Just two decades ago its First District seat encompassed the entire high desert, Morongo Basin and San Bernardino mountain range, taking in over 18,000 of the county’s 20,000 square miles. But today, due to significant population growth in the southern part of the district, the huge desert/mountain district has significantly decreased land-wise from its original 18,000 square miles to just over 15,500 square miles.  The most recent census shows that it now takes in the Victor Valley cities, excluding Barstow, along with much of the Mojave Desert, stretching to the Nevada border, south along the Arizona state line. • Examiner: Focus on the First Supervisorial District: An interview with Robert Lovingood

San Bernardino County’s First District encompasses almost 15,000 square miles and is the largest supervisorial district in the lower 48 states.  It covers much of what is known as the “high desert” and reaches to both the Nevada and Arizona state lines. The incumbent First District supervisor did not to run for re-election. Seven candidates competed for the open seat.  Robert Lovingood was the top vote getter. Lovingood is a local businessman.  He currently owns ICT Staffing Solutions in Victorville.  He agreed to answer a few questions for Examiner.com. Q: What is your plan to bring the high desert its fair share of tax dollars and services when you are only one vote out of five? To read the rest of the story, click here.

    • Examiner: County supervisor races shaping up to be union versus anti-union

Administrator’s Note:  You have to scroll down on the actual story, but there is a list of the top 25 safety retirement allotments.  There are a few new names. It is not hard to figure out why San Bernardino County employee unions are spending hundreds of thousands of dollars to influence the first and third district supervisor races.  The top two candidates in each race could not be more ideologically apart.  Yesterday’s announcement by Supervisor Neil Derry to introduce a measure to limit pension spiking, among other reforms, sealed the deal. According to a press release issued by Derry’s office on Wednesday, pension costs as a percentage of total county expenditures have risen from three percent in 1999 to nearly ten percent of all expenditures in 2011.  The county contribution to the public employee pension fund has increased from $43 million to $232 million.
