Examiner.com: Republicans open temporary locations in Coachella Valley

Riverside County has been a Republican stronghold for years. Even as neighboring San Bernardino County turned blue almost two years ago, Riverside Republicans have maintained their advantage, currently outnumbering Democrats countywide by over 41,000 registered voters. However, in several of the Coachella Valley’s cities, including Palm Springs, Cathedral City, Coachella and Indio, Democrats lead Republicans in voter registration.

Two chapters of the Riverside County Federation of Republican Women are gearing up for an aggressive voter registration drive to improve numbers as well as promote Republican candidates for offices currently held by Democrats. To facilitate their efforts, both groups are opening headquarters which will be manned by volunteers through Election Day.

The Palm Springs Republican Women Federated has opened their new office in the Stein Mart shopping center, located at 155 South Palm Canyon Drive, Palm Springs. A grand opening celebration will take place this Friday, August 6, starting at 5 p.m. Congresswoman Mary Bono Mack is scheduled to be in attendance.
