Kevin James is a candidate in the city of Los Angeles mayor’s race. He is one of eight candidates in the race. He is a Republican and he is openly gay. Time will tell if he will be embraced or rejected by either. Los Angeles, the second largest city in the nation, passed an ordinance on October 24, 2012, to ban the sales of commercially bred dogs, cats and rabbits in pet stores. The ordinance goes for its second reading on October 31. The ordinance was authored by Councilman Paul Koretz. It passed on a 12 to 2 vote with Councilmen Mitchell Englander and Bill Rosendahl dissenting. Councilman Tom Labonge was absent. To read the rest of the story, click here.
