    • iePolitics: Gun control: A cop’s view

It seems there have been a lot of cops calling into KFI with their views on gun control.  I have to admit initially I was surprised by what they had to say. I have been listening a lot lately to Piers Morgan pontificating on the gun control issue. He seems to have made this his obsession even to the point that a petition was submitted to the White House calling for him to be deported. I agree with the White House Press Secretary, Jay Carney’s position in response to the petition that, “When discussing the Second Amendment, keep the First in mind too.”  You see, Piers has a right to free political speech as much as anyone, regardless of whether he is a citizen of this country or not. First of all, most Americans my age were always taught that, along with rights comes responsibility. At least that’s a lesson my Mother put across to us and emphasized quite heavily. We were always told that, “just because you have a right to say things doesn’t mean you should always exercise that right”.  We were taught to use discretion, understanding and sensitivity when we [...]
