    • Yucca Valley recall effort moves forward

Yesterday the effort to recall two members of the Yucca Valley Town Council, Robert Lombardo and George Huntington, moved one step closer to fruition.  Ron Cohen, the lead proponent and spokesperson for Concerned Citizens whose website is www.YuccaValleyRecall.com, delivered proof of publication and two copies of the proposed recall petitions to Yucca Valley Town Clerk, Jamie Anderson. Huntington and Lombardo were served with recall notices on April 30.  Both filed responses that said little to address the concerns of the watchdog group. Anderson has ten days to examine the blank petitions as to form and content.  Once the petitions are approved, the group can begin the signature-gathering process. • Examiner: Commentary: They can run but they can’t hide from the new media

Town of Yucca Valley mayor, Dawn Rowe, and city manager, Mark Nuaimi, learned recently that the new media, including social media, cannot be controlled, bought or threatened into submission like the mainstream media they are so used to manipulating through advertising revenue.  They lost two campaigns in a big way. First, Yucca Valley’s most prominent RINOs (Republican in Name Only) were defeated in their quest to raise sales tax by one percent to fund their pet projects.  Clearly, they controlled local media, which urged a “yes” vote on Measure U, despite serious consequences that could destroy the town. • iePolitics: An update on Blaze and Dakota

There will be an Examiner story in the next few days but I thought I would share that I had a chance to meet the very “vicious” Blaze and Dakota and the four pups today.  They are home where they belong, but it took a kick-ass attorney to make that happen.

I received an email a little while ago from a lady whose husband is in the military and seems to be stationed in Europe somewhere.  She read about the situation with JR’s dogs on an Ireland website and wrote to offer her help.

    • Examiner: RINO Alert: Yucca Valley Town Council places tax measure on ballot

The four members of the Yucca Valley Town Council voted to place a 1 percent sales tax initiative on the November ballot.  Republican Mayor Dawn Rowe and Councilmen Merl Abel, George Huntington and Robert Lombardo all voted in favor of the measure.  The San Bernardino County Registrar of Voters recently designated the proposal as “Measure U.” Republican candidates are usually asked to sign a “no tax” pledge.  However, the four members of this town council─the fifth member recently resigned─didn’t get the memo that Republicans do not vote to raise taxes or place such matters on the ballot unless they want to be referred to as RINOs, Republican in Name Only.
