Town of Yucca Valley mayor, Dawn Rowe, and city manager, Mark Nuaimi, learned recently that the new media, including social media, cannot be controlled, bought or threatened into submission like the mainstream media they are so used to manipulating through advertising revenue. They lost two campaigns in a big way. First, Yucca Valley’s most prominent RINOs (Republican in Name Only) were defeated in their quest to raise sales tax by one percent to fund their pet projects. by AdministratorThe four members of the Yucca Valley Town Council voted to place a 1 percent sales tax initiative on the November ballot. Republican Mayor Dawn Rowe and Councilmen Merl Abel, George Huntington and Robert Lombardo all voted in favor of the measure. The San Bernardino County Registrar of Voters recently designated the proposal as “Measure U.” Republican candidates are usually asked to sign a “no tax” pledge. However, the four members of this town council─the fifth member recently resigned─didn’t get the memo that Republicans do not vote to raise taxes or place such matters on the ballot unless they want to be referred to as RINOs, Republican in Name Only.
