    • Examiner: Americans for America celebrates elected officials

Americans for America, the High Desert’s faith-based tea party group, is planning a celebration for our elected officials combined with a food drive to help our community in this holiday season.  The event takes place on Dec. 5 beginning at 6 p.m. Clint Air, founder of the group, asks those attending to bring canned goods, cereals, peanut butter or pastas.  If possible, $20 in food donations, is greatly appreciated. • SBSun: Measure R real reform for SB County

Admin:  For those who don’t know, Kieran Brennan is the original proponent of Measure R. Kieran Brennan Posted:   10/29/2012 06:34:47 PM PDT   On Nov. 6 voters have a choice between two local initiatives to cap the pay of the members of the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors. Only one of those measures provides real reform that will save taxpayers millions of dollars. That initiative is Measure R. Measure R is the only local ballot measure that was initiated and supported by a grassroots coalition of average citizens: Democrats and Republicans; tea party patriots and employee union members; animal welfare volunteers and hunting enthusiasts; and community activists and citizens seeking elected office for the first time. It is also the only local measure that more than 73,000 county residents signed to qualify for the ballot. As the original proponent of the “Elected Officials Pay Reduction Act,” now known as Measure R, I can tell you we have put forth a proposal that scares entrenched and unethical elected officials. Measure R not only reduces the pay and benefit packages of board members from a high of $308,000 to $60,000 a year, it requires that the board meet at least twice a month and it reduces staffing across the districts from $6 million to $1.5 million a year. • iePolitics: Some Examiner stats

Examiner today started giving us our stats in comparison to other Examiners. They are based on page views. There are something like 85,000 Examiners. I was happy to learn that at the local level — Palm Springs — my animal welfare column and my government column are ranked No. 2 and No. 4 respectively. Bill has already made it to No. 5 for San Bernardino and Riverside.

    • iePolitics: So just how screwed up is the county’s Civil Service Commission

Well the Orduno case did not go today. Why did it get continued? Because the arbitrator decided to go to the World Series instead. In the meantime, while he’s enjoying the game, the deputy is trying to figure out how to put food on his table. Remember, he was found not guilty in a court of law.

    • Examiner: Llamas and politicos come together at meet and greet

At what was one of the most enjoyable meet and greets of this political season, Eighth Congressional District candidate, Gregg Imus, and Mojave Water Agency candidate, Clint Air, mixed politics with barbecue and wool spinning at a working llama ranch this past weekend.  The event was held at La Llama farms in Apple Valley. The ranch belongs to Air’s in-laws and is home not only to llamas but also alpacas, goats, turkeys, peacocks and more.  No RINOs could be found. To read the rest of the story, click here.

Mojave Water Agency candidate, Clint Air, and 8th Congressional District candidate, Gregg Imus, will be in Apple Valley on Saturday, October 20, starting at 3 p.m. for a meet and greet.  The event includes a pumpkin patch, chicken dinner, face painting, hot apple cider and a concert by Peg Leg Slim, who will be playing classic rock and blues. • Examiner: Focus on the Mojave Water Agency: An interview with Clint Air

Clint Air is the second candidate for the Mojave Water Agency to agree to an interview.  He is running for the Division 5 seat. Air is probably better known to local residents as a leader in the Tea Party movement.  He is the founder of Americans for America, a faith-based chapter of the Tea Party located in the Victor Valley.  Here are his responses to the questions. Q:  Why are you running for the MWA?  To read the rest of the story, click here.

    • Examiner: Americans for America Tea Party chapter announces candidate forum

The Americans for America Tea Party chapter announced today that 20 candidates have confirmed their attendance at a forum being held Thursday, October 4, 2012, at Angel’s Roadhouse in Apple Valley.  Not all candidates who are attending are endorsed by Americans for America. Americans for America is a faith-based offshoot of the Tea Party movement.  The group’s website states its purpose as “Bringing Patriots together who believe that this Country was founded on Religious beliefs. It is time we stop apologizing for being Americans. It’s time we are proud of our religious background and stand up against those who try to say it is not PC. Well being PC has just about killed what made our Country so Great.” To read the rest of the story, click here.
