I have nothing to do with this. This is a request by ACU. Kenny will elaborate.

by Administrator with 23 CommentsCalifornia vehicle owners now have one more choice in license plate designs. The California Pet Lover’s license plate became a reality when the 7,500 preorder goal was met earlier this month. The new plate not only has a picture of a dog and cat, but it reminds us that spaying and neutering saves lives. Proceeds from the plate will help fund free and low-cost spay and neuter procedures statewide. Currently, more than 500,000 animals are destroyed in California each year for lack of homes. Sterilization is one piece of the puzzle in solving the pet overpopulation problem. To read the rest of the story, click here.
by Administrator with No CommentsFour years ago San Bernardino County was a red county. Today, registered Democrats outnumber registered Republicans by almost 31,000 voters. It is that statistic that has even the most ardent ultra-conservative grassroots San Bernardino County Central Committee members ready to vote for a . . . omg . . . sitting politician as the new chairman over the current “we the people” incumbent. Unless one first flinches, a showdown could take place this month between sitting chairman, Robert Rego, and Assemblyman Curt Hagman. Hagman, one of California’s more successful Republican legislators, is challenging Rego for the top county spot. To read the rest of the story, click here.
by Administrator with No CommentsThe San Bernardino County Sherriff’s Department Promotional System – Is It Fair??? Well we are into another year and very close to the time when members of the Sherriff’s Department will be testing again for a promotion. For those still on the list there may be one more chance for them to get promoted within the current system. If those who are in group one are not promoted they will be forced to test again, cross their fingers and hope that they do as well this time around as they did last time. If not then they stand a chance of not being promoted while people who scored below them were. Most people that are familiar with the system now in place are not very happy with it. And for those that do not know how it works here is a little sample. Deputies at the rank of deputy and detective are given a promotional evaluation by the station that they work at. This evaluation is conducted by the staff at the station. The evaluation is then sent downtown to the deputy chief in charge of the station/division. Most times the evaluation stays the same unless a member of the executive staff sends it back to the station and tells the Captain to change it because someone wants to make sure that the person is promoted. You may ask yourself if this is true and trust us it is. Presently two Lt’s with the department come to mind that would [...]
by Administrator with 27 CommentsJanuary 9, 2013 By mmunson Our San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors needs to become more responsive to the constituents of our county. The inherent contempt of the constituents makes it more insulting to be represented by them. The way our board members navigate through rules and procedure to say they are following the rules makes me wonder if we are in Cook County, Illinois such as how they added responsibilities to County Operating Officer Greg Devereaux that were questionable according to our county charter. by Administrator with No CommentsDear Sharon The citizens of 29 Palms are being duped, pure and simple. The good folks of 29 need only ask Chief Hartwig to explain the missing money at Havasu Lake and the in-house allegations of misappropriation when considering County Fires record in small desert communities. County Fire apparently is unwilling or unable to provide a budget, the required annual audit, and any meaningful tracking of our 218 “Special Fire Tax” election generated Tax Dollars. ( allegedly illegally Sent to Hesperia for a command salary) The FOIA return received from County Fire was an absolute joke and can only be perceived as being deceptive, which of course indicates knowledge and guilt. All items received from County Fire already existed in our Havasu Lake database and we had in fact sent one document to County Fire. Yes, County Fire sent it back in the FOIA return! We have a performance evaluation upcoming with LAFCO, it will be interesting to see if Chief Hartwig has cooked the books by then. (Forensic Audit) Why deny a FOIA Request then produce the record for LAFCO? In response to Chief Hartwig’s deceptive bullshit we are going to produce the complete record of events at Fire Station 18 and hammer him with it until he quits. No one at County Fire has denied the allegation of misappropriation of funds from our Special District. This is of course a Mitzelfelt legacy issue. Something will appear in a mailbox in 29…..

by Administrator with 4 CommentsSomeone sent this to me today. It works on Apple products. I cannot say if it works on PCs. It’s not the same as a real scanner, but cool nonetheless. I believe you can enter different codes for different frequencies. http://audio2.radioreference.com/455546260
by Administrator with 8 CommentsJust wanted to update everyone on a couple of issues. Someone brought to my attention what is happening if you try to access the blog from a search engine. I spent a long time on the phone with GoDaddy and they cannot provide an explanation. Were we hacked again by the county? It’s possible but we don’t know for sure. It seemed to me that the problem started when I changed to the last theme so I downloaded this theme. Nothing has changed. So, I have one other possible fix that will take several days. If that doesn’t work, the. I will likely move the blog offshore and start from scratch. The old articles will remain with GoDaddy. Sorry the blog is such a mess right now, but I am working on it in my spare time.
by Administrator with No CommentsMy question for Yoder is this: are you going to do the right thing and take care of all the Brady cops before you leave? On another note, I bet Gina is dancing in the aisles today.
by Administrator with 16 CommentsIn a special meeting tonight, the Hesperia Unified School District Board of Trustees named Dave McLaughlin as acting superintendent. I wonder if this will finally put an end to all the in-fighting between board members. Yeah, right! It is only just begun.
by Administrator with No CommentsI’ve been told that a citizen on patrol was recently terminated from the Hesperia station because of misconduct and suspicion of embezzlement. Captain Higgins was aware of it the whole time, but the COP wasn’t terminated until Bentsen took over. This COP is still going to local businesses claiming he’s a representative for the department and accepting money and gifts for himself.

by Administrator with 6 CommentsSo why did SBSD Bob put two bullets in a dog yesterday?
by Administrator with 4 CommentsWe have been hearing rumors for weeks. Now Brad Mitzelfelt has taken it one step further. He has opened a 2014 state assembly account. Guess he can’t take “no” for an answer.
by Administrator with 2 CommentsI went to the Big Bear Animal Shelter to photograph dogs, but it was a petite kitty that stole my heart when he flailed himself against the bars of his cage to get attention. I named the drama queen “Shakespeare.” Shakespeare is 7 months old. He is a beauty and has personality plus. The little charmer is vocal. He will not be an aloof kitty. He knows what he wants and he wants someone to love him. To read the rest of the story, click here.
by Administrator with No CommentsOf the six dogs I photographed at the Big Bear Animal Shelter yesterday, Momma most broke my heart. I know she has the least chance of getting out alive—not because she is old, misbehaved or sick. She is a pit bull mix, and that more often than not, is a death sentence. Momma is a sweetheart. She is only a year old. She is enthusiastic and had one of those bully smiles on her face the whole time. To read the rest of the story, click here.
by Administrator with No CommentsDuke is a big boy—a really big boy weighing in at 100 pounds or more. He is a giant. He is located at the Big Bear Animal Shelter in the San Bernardino mountains in Southern California. Duke is listed as a mastiff. He is about 2 years old and a real sweetheart.
