iePolitics: It’s not our Money!

When the Board of Supervisors decided on firing Mark Uffer most observers thought he would just move on. Most people felt that the public humiliation generated as retaliation by certain members of the Board and their staff members was enough

Not so quick. Most educated and experienced managers would heed the advice of lawyers and human resource staff and keep their comments to themselves.

iePolitics: More on IRNET

There was a meeting yesterday in Narcotics where some of the IRNET issues were discussed. It seems that the upper management does not feel that any of the people involved with the IRNET issue did any type of policy violation nor did they do anything wrong. The only one that does feel as if they had to save face is Deputy Chief Paul Cook. In an attempt to save face with another outside agency that assists funding with IRNET Chief Cook had the Captain, Lt, Sgt, Detective and deputy assigned to a team transferred out of the division. Keep in mind that from the top man on down they feel that none of these people did anything whatsoever wrong but Chief Cook went ahead and transferred these people to other assignments.

It seems as through when the Good Lord was handing out “brains” Cook misheard him and thought that he was handing out “rain” and declined his offer.

iePolitics: Is SEBA going to wake up?

I have been told by a most outstanding source that paybacks are gonna be hell.  Seems the SEBA boys aren’t playing by the rules set forth for them by the Fifth Floor.  They are actually standing up for themselves these days.

Here is a question for SEBA:  Have you stopped ALL donations to ALL county elected officials including the BOS and Sheriff Hoops and District Attorney Ramos?  If not, why not?  Seriously.  Why is your hard-earned money going to any of them to wine and dine and get re-elected to screw you over some more?

iePolitics: Sheriff’s Department updates

It seems everyone is making assumptions about Lt. Emmons.  Something didn’t seem right to me so I asked a source to look into it further.  It seems Emmons has not been promoted to Lieutenant but is underfilling the position with the intent of being promoted to it.  This is not being arranged by Deputy Chief Big Momma (sorry but her name totally escapes me right now) but rather by Deputy Chief Paul Cook (not to be confused with Assemblyman Paul Cook). iePolitics: The Burial Ground Story

Brad Mitzelfelt sits at his desk in the Government Center and worries about keeping his name out of the limelight when there are issues that make the County accountable.  Anyone who believes Brad knew nothing of Bill’s struggles is smoking the same substance that Brad allegedly partakes in.  Brad not only knew , but covered it up.  Brad was aware where Bill was during the Yucca Valley fire when no one could reach Bill.  Brad was aware that Bob Smith and Adam were driving Bill to get help and were out of State.  Brad lied to his peers, lied to Uffer, and lied to his constituents.  It was Brad that panicked when the press came calling and forced Bill to re appear.

iePolitics: Colonies partner murders mountain lion

This is so not cool.  Why do we have trophy hunters on the Fish and Game Commission.  That seems like a conflict of interest.  He needs to go from an “uncharged co-conspirator” to a “charged co-conspirator.”  From SFGate:

Warning: Photo may disturb some readers; photo of lion trophy sparks debate over legal hunting

Fish and Game Commission President Dan Richards with mountain lion he shot after grueling hunt in Idaho

The divide between those who live in rural areas and those from cities ruptured wide this past weekend across America in a debate over a provocative photo of California Fish and Game Commission President Dan Richards and a huge mountain lion he shot legally after an 8-hour hunt in Idaho.

Some comments on Facebook suggest that Richards should be the one hunted and shot, that he should be jailed, that is unethical to shoot anything you do not eat, and hunting of any kind is barbaric.

iePolitics: How the heck do you get suspended for 72 days and get promoted too?

Here is the latest for all of you to confirm, deny, or clarify:

  1. Sgt. Emmons, who has been in trouble so many times that his total number of days of suspension numbers 72, has been promoted to lieutenant.
  2. Sgt. Manny Mendoza of POST fame has also been promoted.
  3. There is a big internal investigation going on that we believe has to do with the Major Narcotics Team.

Did I mention that Paul Schrader plans to run again?

iePolitics: Interesting phone calls

In the last two days I have had two very unusual phone calls.  In both cases I was advised of some interesting things going on in the First District.  If what I was told is true, one or both situations could be game changers for the First Supervisorial District and the Eighth Congressional District races.

Examiner.com: Gov’s appointment shows arrogance for state conflict of interest requirements

Dr. Dev GnanaDev

(San Bernardino) – California Governor Jerry Brown appointed Dr. Dev GnanaDev to the Medical Board of California on December 21, 2011.  GnanaDev was sworn in on January 9, 2012 according to a staff member at the board’s executive office.

A phone call placed Monday to the Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) confirmed that GnanaDev has missed his filing deadline for the FPPC Form 700, Statement of Economic Interest, more commonly known as “conflict of interest statement.”   GnanaDev has a history of filing inaccurate or incomplete Form 700s.

According to a representative of the board, all new appointees are given instructions about filling out the forms.  A call to the board this afternoon confirmed that GnanaDev has not filed.
