What would you say if your union rep told the captain that he would help get rid of the employee but he needed to know that if he did so he would be made a sergeant down the road? AND was stupid enough to put it in writing?
by AdministratorI have been provided information that a Lieutenant John Ginter is retiring. I have not yet checked the SBCERA minutes but am told the information is there.
by AdministratorA whole lot of things went into iePolitics being mostly dormant for a period of time. One of them was the murder of Jeremiah McKay. It did not feel right to be dissing a department in mourning. Now we see that Sheriff McMahon is going to ride in the Big Bear Heritage Parade with the Sheriff’s Rangers. That might not be a big deal except the sheriff is up for election AND the grand marshal of the parade is the other SBCo. deputy wounded by Christopher Dorner. In other words, McMahon will use the pain and suffering that Alex Collins has gone thru to further his own political career. I do not know if Collins is a McMahon supporter or not but I do know that Jeremiah McKay was a Paul Schrader supporter. This seems like political whoring at its finest.
by AdministratorWe are still waiting to hear of an internal affairs investigation into the roughing up of the off-road motorcyclist. I wonder how long we shall have to wait?
by AdministratorWell, the answer is the Big O. Is this making anyone else feel a bit more hopeful?
by AdministratorIt seems Johnny Mac has had a bit of a rough time lately. From what I hear, a certain federal deposition didn’t go too well. Now we are hearing that our good sheriff wants to get SEBA’s endorsement NOW, so they can’t back out. We are even hearing he is using some heavy handed maneuvers to assure he gets it. Time will tell.
by AdministratorState campaign documents paint an unexpected picture of Paul Leon’s campaign to replace Gloria Negrette McLeod in the California Senate after she won a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives this past November. Leon is the mayor of Ontario. His opponent is Norma Torres, who currently serves in the California Assembly. Leon’s campaign expenditures came under scrutiny after some within the Republican Party were hearing complaints that Leon did not have sufficient financial support. For the period of Jan. 1 thru April 27, 2013, the Paul Leon for State Senate District 32 campaign spent $347.278.60, leaving it with a balance of $5,516.46 cash on hand. The total dollar amount is a signal a well-funded campaign, especially for a special election. Analysis of how the money was spent is what is of concern to political insiders. During a four-month period, Leon’s campaign paid $36,145 to The Paideia Group, LLC. Paideia’s website states, “The Paideia Group (TPG) LLC. is a comprehensive consulting firm, specializing in governmental conflict resolution as well as executing comprehensive political, educational and issue oriented campaigns.” What the website does not state is who owns the company. by AdministratorHere is a link to the Tim Donnelly information filing and police report: http://extras.mnginteractive.com/live/media/site203/2012/0224/20120224_043509_ON25_DONNELLY.pdf Taking into consideration that he did not have a CCW (Confirmed by a federal agent) AND we know beyond a shadow of a doubt that at one point he was not allowed to possess any firearm, do you feel he was charged appropriately? Is this how the average citizen would be charged? Would they be released to catch their flight and not even booked?
by AdministratorWill he pardon himself? Have we ever had a governor on probation?
by AdministratorWhile Yucca Valley Town Manager Mark Nuaimi looks on, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Captain Richard Boswell arrested Jason Allen Arrona on March 13, 2013. Arrona was already on the ground after crashing his dirt bike. Now a video has surfaced showing the details of the arrest. Some residents who have viewed the video are suggesting Boswell used excessive force and should be subjected to a “use of force” investigation. Boswell is seen in the video grabbing Arrona by the hair and hitting his face into the ground. Arrona’s helmet was to the side and there appears to have been no determination as to whether Arrona had a neck or head injury from the motorcycle crash prior to Boswell’s assault on Arrona’s head and neck. by AdministratorI am sure everyone has noticed the issues with both iePolitics.com and PoliticsintheWildWest.com. Part of me is ready to give up but I will NOT allow those bastards to win. So, what I am going to do is run simultaneous blogs so that everyone can access one or the other. They will have the same information but the comments may differ. However, it may be several more weeks before I can make that happen. If there is a mysql expert and/or malware expert out there that would like to volunteer some time to speed up the process, let me know.
by AdministratorWe are hearing that the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department is planning a gun confiscation shortly. The guns have already been identified. These are guns that were purchased, or at least registered, legally. They will be doing this without search warrants. I have additional information but I want to see what others have heard first.
by AdministratorWe may have a showdown for the Assembly seat currently held by Brian Nestande–the Rino who represents the Morongo Valley and much of the Coachella Valley, Hemet, etc. Chris Mann has declared his candidacy. Here is a link to his firm: www.manncommunications.net. One of our county’s very own is also said to be running. Although, I’ve confirmed it through three separate sources, I shall not mention the name. I will only say that it is the one and the same as the person who assists Janice Rutherford in quashing public comment at BOS meetings as well as the rest of her dirty work. He is just what we need in Sacramento–NOT!!
by AdministratorSorry cops, this isn’t a cop story. I’m still pretty pissed off at all of you (ok, many of you) so there are not going to be any cop stories for a while . . . maybe never. Anyway, back to the rumor. The rumor is that Neil Derry is considering a run against Janice Rutherford. That, of course, would mean a change of residences. But, oh how funny would that be! I have to admit I would love to see it. If he played his cards right, I bet he could beat her. Next year could be a fun year.
by AdministratorToday is the national “Day of Resistance” and high desert residents made their feelings known about what that means. At least 100 protesters waved flags and signs on the corner of Apple Valley Road and Bear Valley Road in Apple Valley between noon and 2 p.m. Participants were greeted by very enthusiastic motorists who joined the protest with the honks of horns. What is the “Day of Resistance”? To read the rest of the story, click here.
by AdministratorToday’s Daily Press outlines the high desert cities’ plan to look at forming a JPA for fire and law enforcement services rather than contracting with the SB Sheriff’s Department and County Fire. According to the story, one of the reasons is the Greg Devereaux wants to start charging for things the county doesn’t currently charge for such as helicopter usage. Sources tell iePolitics that that may be only half the story. The serious costs that Devereaux is said to want the cities to pay for is the cost of retirement contributions for those employees currently working in a contract city. To me this doesn’t make sense as I would wonder why the cities are not already paying those costs. But that is what we are being told. Stayed tuned as we learn more and verify whether this is true or not.
by AdministratorI am not sure if everyone realizes the big deal the rave issue in this county really is. Back in the days of Kathy Davis, they were commonplace in the First District. People died as a result. Now we have the county contracting for them at Glen Helen. I realize it is not Lovingood’s, Rutherford’s, Gonzales’ or Ramos’ kids that will be going to these raves and using all sorts of drugs, etc., but really, they should care that anyone’s child is being put in harm’s way at a county-sponsored event on county property. But they do not. Should we expect more from them? Why? We would only be disappointed once again. Besides, if families sue, we have the Legal Beagle on Ice to defend the taxpayers with his sage legal advice that has proven so effective in the past.
by AdministratorDear Sharon Insomniac and Robert Lovingood, a match made just for iepolitics…… If the shoe fits……..If it quacks its a duck…… “The Mitzelfelt and Lovingood era of corruption.” Robert just signed off on having his name used in context with the ongoing Goldenvoice bribery case in Los Angeles and the entire history of Rave induced bribery, dope and death here in San Bernardino County. In no case could we have hoped for such a strategic fumble, this is a bolt from the blue and allows Robert’s name to go down in history right next to Pasqualle Rotella and our local predators. This indicates a one term Supervisor. Robert, I told you that this is a question of perception of competence….
