(Rancho Cucamonga) – Senator Bob Dutton (R-31) announced today he has introduced legislation that would reduce sales tax on bundled cell phone plans.  Senate Bill 1086 will ensure that tax is collected only the actual sales price of the phone.

Most consumers purchase cell phones and other mobile devices as part of a bundled package that includes the service plan.  Retailers charge the consumers sales tax on the mobile devices even when those devices are free, as they are with many plans.
