My blog, iePolitics.com, has been around in one form or another since mid-2006. Two years ago it was voted “Best Blog” by Inland Empire Magazine. The highest hit day was November 17, 2009, when it received over 170,000 hits in a 24-hour period.
My goal is to shine light on corruption within San Bernardino County. The county is well into its second decade of scandal. So far three Chairmen of the Board of Supervisors have been charged criminally. Two county administrative officers have been convicted, with one serving 17 months in federal prison. Several other top-level county officials have been convicted of state and/or federal crimes and additional officials are currently under indictment. At the current time at least three of the current five members of the Board of Supervisors are being investigated by local, state, and/or federal law enforcement officials.
I have been a county employee since February 1980. The county had been a great place to work. But beginning in the 1990s, integrity was replaced by greed and arrogance. County leaders stopped caring about those they were hired or elected to serve. Corruption among the county’s top executives became the norm, not the exception. Morale disintegrated among line staff as one corruption scandal after another unfolded on the front pages of the local newspapers and in the national media.
Gradually, some of us began to speak out about the abuses and theft we witnessed daily. But speaking out against abuse by county officials has not come without a price. In October 2009, I was given a 16-day suspension for blogging on my own time. The county did not like the corruption I was exposing. I was told that I was “creating a hostile work environment for county administrators.” I was also told that as a county employee I have no right to speak out about county corruption.
I also try to be a voice for the animals placed in the care of San Bernardino County Animal Care and Control who are abused and killed by those charged with their care. Taxpayers pay for this abuse and unnecessary killing and it is time they be made aware of what is really occurring in “California’s Most Corrupt County.

Tax-fighting BOE Member & former Senator George Runner endorses Smith for Supervisor.
VICTORVILLE, CA — Today the tax-fighting Board of Equalization who represents San Bernardino County, announced his endorsement of Bob Smith for County Supervisor, District 1.
Runner, who served in the Assembly and State Senate representing the High Desert, has long been recognized as a thoughtful, effective conservative leader.
“Bob Smith is exactly what San Bernardino County needs – a retired cop, a community leader who can be absolutely trusted. He’s not afraid to stand up for conservative principles and do what is right,” said Runner. “I’m proud to offer my enthusiastic endorsement of Bob Smith for Supervisor!”
“Being endorsed by someone I’ve respected for a long time means a lot me me personally, as well as to my campaign,” Bob Smith stated. “The momentum is really building.”
Smith currently serves as a District 1 community liaison, volunteer fire chief and air force reserve pilot; he is a retired Deputy Sheriff.

Do you know if there is an on going investigation into Park Moabi / Pirate Cove?
Star Moffatt in her bid for State Senate wants to remove any of the old corruption from the community of the High Desert. To that end, Star will gladly meet with Bob Smith to find out how deep he will dig to ferret out corruption in the community. We need new blood in the community, not connected to the old guard.
The cleaning house that San Bernardino County has commenced, needs to continue, and it will by electing Star Moffatt for State Senate. Is Bob Smith enough of a rebel to expose corruption. Has he ever violated protocol by exposing inside deals, at the expense of his job? Star Moffatt has and that is why she is running for State Senate. If Bob has done the same, I look forward to hearing about it. Star Moffatt will also look forward to supporting the rebels in the local offices that expose corruption, and have a history of doing so, while risking their respective job. Star Moffatt will support the candidate that has those traits.
How can one be sure that they remain annonymous on your site?
The best ways to protect your identity on this site or any other include: Do NOT include your email address–it is not necessary. Do NOT write anything that would give clues to your identity. Do NOT make threats or attempt to use the site in an illegal manner. Also, posts from cell phones tend to be much harder to trace.
I have no control over what a law enforcement agency does if you make a threat or try to use the site to commit a crime–as a matter of fact they will have my full cooperation. Other than that example, I do everything I can to protect the identity of our bloggers and prefer to never know who you are to begin with to make that easier for me.
Jeff, I want on met with Star ASAP, please e-mail me at steve_rogers@verizon.net.
