It seems Ontario mayor Paul Leon has decided he fits in better with Democrats–or is he a first-rate opportunist? He is switching parties AND he is deciding whether to run for Norma Torres’ seat in the Assembly (AD55) or Gloria Negrete McLeod’s seat in the Senate (SD32).

Typical
Unless the Jungle Primary rules changed party affiliation requirements (which, alas, it very well might have), he can’t do that. You have to be registered with a party for at least a year before the election in order to run under that party’s label.
Very Typical
It would be better for him to run as DTS.
He said on his page he is keeping his current affiliation.
