The Hesperia City Council has been a divided, not-so-cohesive body since the city was incorporated in 1988. The city remained a bedroom community during most of its history with a strong anti-growth majority controlling the city council. In recent years a pro-growth majority has assumed power and Hesperia is quickly adding a substantial business component to its tax base.
This is the second of two parts of an interview with Eric Schmidt. Schmidt is running for a seat on the Hesperia City Council. Two seats are up for grabs.
Q: Do you support maintaining the current law enforcement contract with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department or would you consider the creation of a high desert law enforcement agency as has been discussed on and off for years?
