You are likely going to get your chance soon. I am not going to go into a lot of what happened a few days ago except to say that I awoke to several individuals breaking into my vehicle. One left a cell phone behind and is (or at least was) in custody. She has a lengthy criminal history. The other two are still being sought.
I did check out the responding deputy, Jason Anderson, with friends and was told he tends to conduct very thorough investigations. And, I have to say he was very professional with me. So here is hoping.
When I can post more, I will. There are several reasons why I am not going to tell the whole story yet.
For now, I am leaving most of the blogging duties to others as I have a big personal project I need to get done. Hopefully, I will be back to regular blogging by the end of the week.

Most crimes are not solved by cops. Most crimes are solved by victims/witnesses/informants. Thus, before the first cop arrives on scene, the crime is already solved. Cops merely have to hook & book bad guys.
Your crime does not appear to have been difficult to solve. If the suspect(s) left behind inculpating evidence, even a caveman could have solved it. The problem with just about every SBSO deputy that I’ve encountered is using inferential reasoning and logical deduction to solve crimes.
Most SBSO deputies lack rudimentary knowledge of substantive and adjective law. If a deputy does not know evidence from Charles Manson, how can she detect crime, identify the suspect, and arrest her? Her safe harbor is to declare no crime or civil problem. Such strategies shield her from having to reveal her incompetence. Thus, if deputies have no clue of substantive and adjective law, lack of reasoning and logic skills don’t come into play. You gotta know what you’re doing before you can use reason and logic to solve crimes,
Administrator, while I am glad that your vehicle burg appears solved, it was a gimme solution since one of the suspects left inculpating evidence at the scene. Moreover, I am glad to have learned that the deputy didn’t give you the standard SBSO refrain of, “It’s a civil problem!” I’d swear that I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that an SBSO deputy turned a murder into a civil problem. That’d make him promotable.
BTW, I know a retired cop who was the victim of a check forgery. You guessed it: the detective handling the crime called it a civil problem. My friend did the investigation for Detective Clueless, who’d assuredly turn a murder into a civil problem, gathered evidence, ID’d the suspects, and gave it all to him, who finally realized check forgery is a felony, and got a filing. Apparently the suspects were good for the same crime in other jurisdictions where cops who know felonies. But for my retired cop friend, SBSO Detective Clueless was nothing more than an accessory to felonies.
I could go on-and-on about SBSO dereliction. God, how could we forget the SBSO deputy who posted here under pseudonym of “Anonymous” and wrote that he’d kiss off a 211 (robbery, a serious felony) if the victim was a dirt bag & didn’t want prosecution. Anonymous is guilty of gross malfeasance and dereliction of duty. He should have been fired for just posting that junk.
Grist for another mill is SBSO deputies making up penal code elements in order to facilitate kissing off crimes, which is euphemism for dereliction of duty. SBSO deputies are practiced at creating their own penal code elements. SBSO deputies have to be delusional if they really believe that they’re legislators with ability to make law. And I can flatly tell you that I have met one who is queen of delusion. She’s created her very own penal code. And she has her very own evidence code to complement it.
In fairness, I am encouraged by apparently squared away deputies who’ve posted here about the serious paucity of SBSO professionalism and are hopefully seeking remedy. However, the only remedy I can detect for deputies who lack basic law enforcement knowledge is termination. One of the flaws of AB 301 is that it does offer too much protection for incompetent cops. Serious dereliction of duty such as kissing off child abuse and robberies should result in termination if gross malfeasance or dereliction is sustained. A cogent argument can be defended that cops who knowingly kiss off felonies become felons themselves by becoming accessories to principals of felonies. Hence, when a deputy kisses off felonies such a child abuse and robbery, s/he reveals her/himself as a dirt bag in tan & green, which is why I’d much prefer CHP to respond to ANY call for service I might have. I have never, ever known a CHP officer to kiss off a felony.

Your adversaries out themselves when they attack you as opposed to attacking your arguments. It’s a cheap tactic to try to win an argument. And believe me, I have read a lot of posts here. You are far above other posters in using reason and logic to support your theses.
After getting to know you, I am confident that you were one of the few SBSO deputies who know law enforcement. While I might have looked for another approach to resolve how you handled at least one call, the indicator of professionalism is discretion. As long as you were legally correct, and from what I know it boils down to opinion of how you resolved that call. While I MIGHT have handled it another way, and keep in mind that I do not have all facts involved, so when push come to shove I would have to rely on the professional discretion of the one who knows all the facts, which is you. Why would my or anyone’s opinion be more valid than yours?

I think you have every reason to maintain your position as it relates to your opinion of the department and those involved in the discipline process which led to your ultimate demise. I agree with much of your assessment as it relates to the current culture and failings of those entrusted in leading men.
My dislike for you is two pronged. First, I believe you missed an opportunity to make change several times due to the fact you focused on your delivery rather than the message itself, you alienated many people who would have ultimately supported you by your becoming militant, arbitrary, and openly hostile to anyone not openly supporting your cause. Second, right or wrong, your delivery caused the rest of us to loose out on an officer safety tool which is needed and has been needed every day since we lost K9. Unfortunately, and I understand what your saying but like many who feel that way and might share your views, fail to know ALL the circumstances that led up to the poor delivery whether it was one time or many times.
I am happy to say that there are many that have an excellent delivery who suffered or are suffering the same demise and took a completely different approach to the problem than I did. So your commentary is deeply flawed. And a VERY poor analogy when serious misconduct is involved in any given situation.
When one breaks their own policies, laws, uses double standards, get’s caught in lies in the process of an investigation, and does so on a routine basis there comes a time when the delivery is less than diplomatic.
Attempt to use tainted evidence or circumvent the system with me and YOU suggest I remain NICE and DIPLOMATIC in my response to such conduct, FUCK YOU Highway and your pals.
But to show your commentary is futher flawed more than a few times the diplomatic approach was taken and that too failed. It failed in the long term because your pals like Richard Beemer could not accept the fact he might have screwed up, didn’t know what he was talking about, so he would simply wait as long as it took, and he’d try his little game again and failed.

@ACU – What years were you in the K-9 program? Wasn’t there an Elvert in the beginning years out of central? Is this person (K-9 Handler Elvert) related to the Sgt Elvert out of the high desert?
There is only one Elvert that I know of Sgt. My time as K-9 1998-99. Elvert has been on long enough that he could have been. I am sure someone else can confirm.
@ACU – He was before Vic Zyss became the handler for central, along with Barron who worked the jail as I recall. Wasn’t there a Holly, who worked the desert too during this time period? I knew all four of them real well… Used to ride with Vic and Raki….. Those were fun days….. except for the crooks….. If you know what I mean…..

Sgt Milstar who you are refering to is Everett. He had a really good dog also who if my memory serves me right was named Areos or something like that .
If my memory serves me correctly, when I was at Victorville back in 1985-86 the K-9 was Heine. It seems to me his handler was named “Ken” too, but it was a different Ken, correct. I had forgotten all about this but I remember the brass hated that Ken too.
I have yet to meet a person who speaks highly of any law enforcement agency from which they were fired!!
