SBPEA Contract Ratification

SBPEA

SBPEA

Here are the results I’ve heard so far:

Management: Yes
Supervising Nurses: Yes

Clerical: No
Administrative Services: No
Craft, Labor and Trades: No
Professional: No
Technical and Inspection: Still Counting but looks like no

I’ve got to admit that as much as I’m worried about the future for you guys, I’m also pretty proud of you too. But just remember what happened a few years ago with the re-vote. Be prepared to take legal action.

  1. Wow. Whatever the outcome, now is the time for the membership to unite. Stand strong. Stand together. Stand with your union. Stand up, take action, and demand respect from the disrespectful employer that refuses to recognize the value and hard work of its employees.

  2. T&I voted NO last time. Then the SBPEA poured all sorts of gloom if the contract wasn’t ratified. So they held another vote with no changes, and the T&I group folded like a wet paper airplane.

The same thing will happen this time.

  3. Ignorance is not bliss… Unfortunately I don’t think SBPEA got the details out soon enough for the nay sayers. I just wished it would have passed. We could be sooooo screwed!

  4. As much as I’m concerned, I’m also tired of being in one of the largest units and getting paid the least amount of money. Heck, if they raise the minimum wage some of the clerical unit will not be earning much more. I work very hard and I have 3 children. I’ve never been able to afford to have them on our insurance. My kids have been on Healthy Families and now on Medi-Cal. Which means EVERYONE’S tax paper dollars, go to subsidizing my kid’s health insurance. I’m sure the general populas would be surprised to learn this. When I chose this job, I chose it for the retirement, yes. I live paycheck to paycheck now, I can’t imagine getting a 7% decrease in my pay. While the cost of living goes up and up, and we pay more and more for things like Milk, bread, eggs and gas to get us to work without giving us even a small increase in pay. In fact that “gift” of the premium that the BOS voted to give us recently was a joke because again I don’t have my family on my insurance, so I didn’t benefit greatly by their so called generosity.

  5. I think the SBPEA membership did a great job in rejecting the insulting contract offer from the County and now they need to get rid of SBPEA.

  6. LOOKS LIKE MR. DEVEREAUX WILL HAVE TO GO BACK AND SHARPEN HIS PENCIL, HE MUST HAVE NOT LOOKED UP AT THE BIG SIGN AT THE GAS PUMP
