iePolitics: Mike Ramos Drunk in Public
As briefly reported at Inlandpolitics on April 15, 2010 by blogger ten.fifteen under the “Frank Guzman releases his campaign website” thread, the blogger eludes to an encounter by deputies with District Attorney Mike Ramos.
It was reported that District Attorney Mike Ramos was attending a party at a friend’s house located in Mentone, which is near Yucaipa and which falls under San Bernardino County Sheriff’s jurisdiction.
A complaint was received for that residence about loud music coming from the location. Two deputies were dispatched to the call.
Upon contacting the resident, deputies informed them of why they were there. The resident said something to the effect of “I don’t think so,” turned and yelled into the house saying, “Hey Mike you need to come out here and handle this.”
District Attorney Mike Ramos comes outside. He was described as being very much under the influence of alcohol.
I cannot quote the exacts words as I was told, but it was said the moment Ramos came outside he was talking down to the deputies with a superior attitude.
One deputy recognized Ramos; the other did not. Finally Ramos dismissed the deputies by saying, “I am done talking to you Deputy.”
The incident was reported to the Watch Commander and the conversation was captured on audio digital recording and has been forwarded up the chain of command. I am sure Sheriff Hoops has heard the tape by now.
With all that has been reported by numerous bloggers on this website and Inlandpolitics about Ramos and his demeanor when intoxicated and when sober, this story as written just confirms what many have said.
My thoughts as I have seen countless times, Ramos has a serious drinking problem, and one VERY big mouth. Arrogance and elitist attitude at its finest.
All I’ll say in closing is someone needs to take the wind out of this guy’s sails. But I don’t think it is going to happen soon enough. I hope Ramos will encounter some not-so-caring CHP officers some night and do a little reality check on him.
Years back, an old friend of the family was hooked for DUI. He was the DA at the time of the arrest, beleive it or not. I think it was either Ontario or CHP that hooked him. Be became a judge later and I miss his cigar and southern draw! If they arrested the DA back then I am sure they would now.
I really think this guy has got nine lives. Number eight and counting.
Why didn’t Ramos just come outside and say, “hi guys, what’s up, oh sorry we will turn the music down, sorry you had to come, thanks and have a good night”.
End of story!!
Any of you old Rancho Deputies reading any of this remember the large party many years ago at Supervisor Mikels house where a couple of our guys took a couple of rocks and bottles from the crowd?
