Sacramento-based sources claim that Senator Robert Dutton (R-31) will throw his hat into the ring to unseat embattled San Bernardino County Second District Supervisor Paul Biane. Three others, Upland Mayor John “JP” Pomierski, KCAA radio host Peter “Scott” Markovich, and publisher of The Alpenphorn News, Dennis Labadie, have all expressed interest in the seat, with the latter two having already declared their candidacies.
Biane was implicated this week as John Doe 5 in a criminal complaint alleging conspiracy and bribery when San Bernardino County District Attorney Mike Ramos filed charges against former Assessor and Board of Supervisors Chairman Bill Postmus and former Assistant Assessor and Third District Chief of Staff Jim Erwin. This, combined with other on-going legal issues, opens the door for a likely successful unseating of Biane.
Dutton capture of the seat, whose Senate term expires in 2012, is thought to be fait accompli by GOP operatives if he chooses to run. This has left many speculating that Bill Emmerson, whose Assembly term expires this year, will step aside from his campaign to replace former Senator John Benoit, who accepted a gubernatorial appointment to the Riverside County Board of Supervisors after the resignation just prior to his death of Supervisor Roy Wilson. Emmerson would be expected to instead seek the seat vacated by Dutton if elected to the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors.
All of this maneuvering by GOP operatives suggests they discount any impact grass root candidates may have on the upcoming election. It also begs the question as to whether the current corruption scandal would change Senator Gloria Negrete McLeod ‘s decision to not run for the Fourth District Board of Supervisors seat currently held by Chairman Gary Ovitt. The voter’s of the second district need to to realize what is taking place if Dutton, and Pomierski decide to run. Whats taking place is both of these possible candidates are taking the voters for granted meaning they assume that they are so loved by the district that they are a shoe in. As a substantial underdog I intend to give both of these guys a hell of a fight. Mr. Dutton your a incumbent with a history of failure to solve the the states fiscal problems, And Mr. Pomierski your as tied up in the Colonies development has much as Mr. Biane. Also shame on the Republican leadership in the west end of the district 2 to wait and see if Mr.Baine gets in trouble before you get excited about keeping a non-partisan race partisan. What all of you don’t realize is, the voters are upset and this election will be about holding all of you incumbents accountable about weather your records where effective while a State Senator and Mayor.
I would have more confidence in a candidate who could actually spell and use proper grammar.

Rumors that I am running for San Bernardino County Supervisor are inaccurate. I am the Senate Republican Leader-Elect and my future political goal is to become the GOP Senate Leader later this year. In the past, I have considered running for County Supervisor in 2014 — four years from now — but not in 2010.
We the residents of SB County are tired of snobs that only go to school to educate them selves on how to swindle tax payer out of money and sneak around with with prostitutes and receive bribes.
I would vote for Scott any time and a vote for Bob Dutton or Mr. Pomierski would be like voting for John doe #5.
The derogatory remarks coming from posers who can’t even use their real name are like activists and protesters wearing masks, or bullies who run around in gangs shooting from passing vehicles. It’s just lame, and if you really think that the spelling and grammer of a message is more important THAN the message, you’re really not listening, anyway.
