Ken Hunter: Test For Echo
While the president of our nation tells us to stop watching political news, we the people have ignored that order. While he may prefer to rule over an uninformed electorate, he is too late. Just as Washington DC is an island surrounded by reality, so is Sacramento. The echo chambers are inside the Capitols-not outside.
Political news is on the hearts, minds and lips everywhere in town, at the post office, coffee shop; at the grocery store and at the bank…That is all you hear folks talking about. A few years ago you would expect to hear the usual complaints about our government with few or no solutions offered. Now I hear desperate pleas to implement real solutions while our leaders would prefer for you and I to mind our own business. Now this generation has learned anew it is their government and as its rightful owners, they will be taking it back with no apologies offered.
It is this awakened and informed citizenry that has re-discovered that Government is something you do, not something that just happens to you.
We the people seem to be more informed than those in our Capitols. Government is finally going to become more responsive through the wonders of the electoral firing squad in 2010. This is the year that we the people will make history. The dream of limited Government is becoming a reality before our eyes. No need to rewrite this part of history, it all started with a whisper that grew and grew into a mighty shout. When Government Expands-Liberty Contracts; that is indeed the only news they don’t want to get out. This is the both the “news” and the truth that must be relearned and reclaimed by each of our generations. A new wave of candidates are coming ashore, to etch this powerful new inscription in the marble halls and pillars of our Capitols; When Government Expands-Liberty Contracts.
Do I hear an echo?

That’s great, Ken. That’s exactly what I want to hear from someone I support for political office. We need smaller government, less spending and intrusion in our lives, and more freedom to pursue the American dream. All the people here in the mountains support you and your views. You go, Ken!!!
